The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) said the Globarena Technologies Private Limited would design and develop software for the entire work process of the Board within three years as per terms and conditions of the tender document.
The Board in a press release said apart from design and developing software, the Globarena will hand over the software and also train an in-house team of the BIE on the same.
“The Globarena will hand over the developed software to BIE and quit/exit after three years. By this, the Board will become self-reliant and the software will be operated by in-house officials alone without depending on an external agency,” the Board said.
Globarena Technologies is a leading learning and assessment company operating in the higher education space offering wide range solutions to enhance learning and assessment that helps institutions to effectively address their entire skilling needs be it generic or subject-specific needs.
The BIE said it intended to develop a web based end-to-end software solution for entire business process including examinations and results processing through an agency. The Board claimed that CGG (Centre for Good Governance) did not respond to a request of developing software module for entire business of BIE.
The Board said it took approval from the State government for floating the tender through e-procurement to finalise agency to develop and maintain web based application.
Magnetic Infotech Pvt. Ltd and Globarena Technologies had participated in the tenders and the latter was selected on merit basis after scrutiny by committee of officers, it said.
“The selected agency will develop the software suite, at a cost of Rs 4.35 crore in three years. After three years the in-house team of the BIE will run the software module and the Board need not pay money to the agency for using the software,” it said.
