Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency level meeting held by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Wednesday, which was attended by a large number of the ruling party activists here, turned out to be a grand affair. The peopled meeting, where the party cadre decked up the meeting area with pink flags, banners and cutouts, turned out to be an opportunity for MLAs and Corporators of the GHMC to show the party’s strength in Hyderabad.
Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao Goud and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who were the cynosure of the meeting, offered a rousing welcome to the TRS working president KT Rama Rao amid showers of rose petals and bursting of multi-colour confetti and crackers starting from the entrance to the dais of the meeting. Earlier, the leaders also arranged a helicopter showering rose petals along the way of Rama Rao from Begumpet airport to Imperial Gardens.

From large to life-size cutouts of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, KT Rama Rao, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and other leaders which were erected along the way to the meeting turned the heads of the attendees as the meeting venue reverberated with slogans of ‘Jai KCR, ‘Jai TRS’ and ‘Jai Telangana’.
Soon after his arrival, Rama Rao hoisted the party flag along with the other senior leaders including General Secretary, Rajya Sabha Member K Keshav Rao, Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali, Animal Husbandry Minister Srinivas Yadav, former Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy and others. People from different communities presented Rama Rao with gifts ranging from pagdis to swords. MLAs Danam Nagender, Muta Gopal, Kaleru Venkatesh and Maganti Gopinath, MLCs MS Prabakar, Palla Rajeshwar Rao and Fareeduddin, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and others were also present. Though the police made the arrangements for the political rally ensuring the smooth flow of traffic, motorists were forced to take several diversions.
