Over 5.52 lakh candidates to take SSC exams in Telangana

This year, 5,52,302 candidates, including regular and private, have registered for the exam while the number stood at 5,34,726 last year for ssc.

The number of students who have registered for this year’s SSC Public Examinations, which commence on Saturday, has gone up by 17,576, as compared with the last year.

This year, 5,52,302 candidates, including regular and private, have registered for the exam while the number stood at 5,34,726 last year. A total of 5,07,810 regular and 44,492 private candidates have enrolled for the examinations while it was 5,01,732 and 32,994 respectively last year. The number of candidates appearing in private mode has surged by 11,498 from last year while it has increased by 6,078 in regular mode.

Last year, 2,53,792 boys and 2,47,940 girls applied for the tests in regular mode and this time, the number has increased by 1,526 and 6,078 respectively.

Directorate of Government Examinations for ssc

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Government Examinations has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the examinations.

The Class X exams will begin with first language paper-I and it will be conducted from 9.30 am to 12.15 pm. The directorate has advised the candidates to reach the assigned centre one hour prior to the commencement of examination. Students will be allowed into the exam venue from 8.45 am and will get a grace time of five minutes till 9.35 am while the exam begins at 9.30 am. Except for the hall ticket, writing pad and pens, students will not be allowed to carry anything into the examination hall.

English paper-II, has been postponed , due to MLC elections. Students from 11,023 schools are expected to sit for the exams.

The directorate has passed necessary instructions to the Police and Revenue departments to shut down photocopying centres, besides enforcing Section 144 around venues. Special control rooms have been arranged at the Directorate of Government Examinations and District Education Offices to oversee the conduct of exams.
