The final match of the 14th St Andrews Inter-School Basketball Tournament for the Dr. Emily Emanuel Trophy was a mixed day for The Future Kids teams. The girls’ team fought a tough game and won over Delhi Public School with 47-40.

Whereas, the same could not happen with the Boys team of the Future Kids. In the final match, the beginning was great with Adyan and Subhash. They maintained a good score at the 12-8 lead in the first quarter. Things changed in the second quarter with the tall players of Oakridge. They played well and made quick attempts to clear the score gaps and made one-point lead at the half of the game (20-19). The Oakridge players continued the same, and in the third quarter, they defended with 28-22. And at last, Oakridge won the game with 38-22 points.

The third place was taken up by the Johnson Grammar (ICSE) as they won over Suchitra Academy with 29-20.

At the girl’s final match, the start-up was good from both ends. Brinda from The Future Kids and Harshitha from Delhi Public School have given a good complimentary and locked their first quarter with 10-10. In the second quarter, The Future Kids handed over the advantage to their rivals with two wrong passes. At half-time, Kushi from the Delhi Public School scored off to help side lead 21-18.

Later, the Future Kids gave a tight defense, and it was felt hard for the Delhi Public School to score more. They could succeed in scoring only 8 points, while the Future Kids could score heavily with Madhura and Hitha. At the third quarter, The Future Kids were at the lead with 34-29. At the final quarter, though the Delhi Public School tried hard, the tight half-court defense of the Future Kids didn’t allow them to score more and defeated with 47-40.
